Its a bit tough to keep this blog updated recently. High scores are constantly rolling in. A good blogger would make daily entries on the scores and stuff. Sometimes the mood hits me (like right now) to say whats going on. But usually I just skip this part of the site. It is what it is. For the last 10 days I was sick as a dog. All better now. Still being a bit lazy though. Enough of that. Lets go on.

Let me rattle off what I can remember from the last 2 weeks with no crib notes. Emil Duds shot a 300 a couple weeks ago. Ray Feliciano had a 300 also. His last one was 4 months ago. Jake Hummel and Tony Buczynski broke a county record for team series in the doubles league. Jake 820 and Tony 804. 1624 total team series! The week before Tony had an 805 series. I think the standing sheet shows him averaging 246 or 248. Troy Barkley shot a 300 this past Tuesday in the 4 man classic league. Thats all I can remember for now. Sorry if I missed anyone. All screens inside the lanes are updated. This has been our highest scoring summer ever I believe. Its just crazy!

Winter league signups are coming in. I cant promise anyone that you will see the leagues we have posted online. I'm a one person show for the internet content you see, and its not easy getting all the stuff up and online from the mechanics shop behind the pinsetters.

While I am at it, I wouldn't be looking for the league standing sheets to be online this year if I was you. This is just the way it goes. Sorry. Yeah, I know I do it for one or two leagues in the summer. Even doing that takes extra time - of which I do not have much time to set just for internet updates. The story is long and I won't bore you as to why the league standings don't show up like other bowling alleys do.

One last thing. A hand full of people have asked if the shot could be made a little bit harder. Or design a league where you have a tough shot, instead of what is put down now. The shot I put down when I work is as constant as possible. When I am not here, you get what you get. I tell the other employees what to do. If its done, it is. I have my certain ways of doing things which nobody else would think or WANT to do. Thats what makes me ME. This upcoming season will be the same shot as last year. Nothing is planned to be changed. Its going to be easy once again. But I guess I eed to tell you that you can look at the balls coming out of the pro shops. These are the most cheating balls I have ever seen. You see, the USBC is two faced up at HQ. Can't blame the local associations. If a ball is sold where you can miss your mark by 8 boards and still hit the pocket, then there is really something wrong with the game. This is nothing new to me or you. But the recent balls in the last 2 years are out of control. The USBC crabs about all the high scores, yet they will allow almost any type of ball to be approved. And why is that? Because they are pals with the ball makers. Try to ask USBC to only allow plastic balls with round cores to be used in league play. Let me know how hard they laugh at you, if they respond at all. If people want to bring integrity back to the game, then you can start with the USBC. The thing with that is, it would have to be scrapped all together and start fresh. Think of it like this. Imagine if the USBC was to approve baseballs and baseball bats like they do bowling balls. Is your head spinning yet?

Tuesday night, Vinnie Orobono finally got his long awaited 800 series by shooting 812.
I'm pretty sure he has shot 791 and 795 in the past. One of them last winter season. Good going Vinnie!

Back to TJ's 1147 the other night. I put his scores up online if you want to take a look at it. Some neato stats and stuff to say wow over.

Check the printout!

On July 7th, Tom Panebianco shot his high series of 810 in the 4 Man Classic league.

And tonight, the 9th a new Ocean County high series for 4 games was rolled!

In the Thursday night doubles (they bowl 4 games), TJ Wisniewski cranked out games of 268-279-300-300 for a 1147 series! His 3 game total of 847 was awesome enough. But to whip out his 2nd 300 of the night. WOW! Whats better? Beating the county high series or shooting back to back 300's? The only open he had was in the first game. The 4-9 split. Then in his second game they tell me he left a slamming 7 pin, for a 279.

Here is a small picture of him under his 300 game screen. Awesome bowling TJ!

1147 series tonight!

Lenny Reneri shot a 300 Thursday night in the Doubles league. Congratulations Lenny! I don't know what his series was.

Not much going on recently. Tuesday Night 4-Man is still as crazy as ever. Heard one guy complaining that he shot a 256 and was blown out of his bracket. Stuff like that seems to be common. I look at it like this. If you bowl with better bowlers, you will just do better yourself. Of course I will not be the only one to tell you this. And I did not coin the phrase. This is the way it is, especially on Tuesday night.

There is really nothing else to say right now that I can think of. Unless you want to hear something funny. Ok, you dragged it out of me. There was a bird in the building on Thursday. Yep. We get them once in a while. Its quite funny (to me anyway) to see the bird flying over the lanes when a league is bowling. You really need to see this for a good laugh! Anyway, myself and a customer got him out the front door in the afternoon. He flew to WaWa. Enough said.

Here is the sheet I talked about earlier. Scroll down a few posts to see what I mean if you missed it.
And for those who don't know, in this league you bowl team against team for the win, but you also bowl against the opposite person on the other team. Beating that person (sometimes with handicap) means you also get a point added to your team. The way this league is set up is a 25 point system. Unlike the traditional 7 point system. And now you know.

OK, now that most everyone had established their average after 9 games its time for some serious bowling. Now I'm not saying that ever bowler feels the need to 'modify' their average in order to give less pins on the following week, but it happens. Knowing this, if you happened to shoot a 650 this past week, you basically were a nobody. This was the most 700's shot in one day i one league that I can remember. Yep, I do remember some stuff!

I may pull up some triplicate sheets later. For now I'll breeze over a few highlights. The team from Egg Harbor. You know them - the kids. They were just a little short of breaking the team county high series and game. I should really get my facts straight, but I am in the back pinchasing as I blog this. Details later if I get the sheets online.

Here is something I do know though. On the pair of lanes you love to hate (23+24) Emil Dudas bowled Rick Barlett. Rick shot 792, while Emil shot 782. Yes gang - that is scratch series. Whoa! And Rick also shot a 300 his second game. This is the 3rd 300 for Rick since October. That's crazy bowling!

More about the guys from Egg Harbor. This is going to be a tough team to beat IF they can keep cool heads. These guys cover a lot of boards when they bowl. All full of energy and very determined. I say this is the team to beat, but keep an eye out for the Angel Charlie team, who usually manages to win leagues or come real close. Stay tuned!

This is pretty much going to be a test. This league may be the only one that manages to make it to the website for the summer. I may get lucky and find a way to streamline the process of getting the leagues from the front desk to online. But for now, check out the classic league.

This years list isn't really a list like I have made in the past. Feeling just a little bit lazy this time. But this is just as cool. All of the screens that you see on the overheads on lanes 9-16 I have saved and tossed onto the website. 72 screens made this past season!
And they should all be in date order. I might have mixed up one or two. If you made it on the screens, then you made it on the internet. If you need yours resized for any reason, get ahold of me at the alleys.

Check out the scores!
